Ok, so I’m an artist. I like to fly by the seat of my pants. But this week has taken seven months of extremely dedicated work.
Let’s start seven months ago. In June I was accepted to the Toronto Interior Design Show. Between then and now, I have worked full time at my mosaic tile business, just building a collection that I loved and the display for the show. My boyfriend/partner has committed hours and hours of his time building walls, wiring, painting and tiling with me. Looking back now, from where I’m sitting today (looking at my display that we have temporarily set up in our living room...) I know it has all been worth it. I know that I’m on the right path whenever I feel that deep sense of gratitude to everyone that’s helped me along the way.
So...the next task at hand is to safely bundle up pounds and pounds of porcelain and take them to market! The Toronto Interior Design show is this Thursday and Friday (January 16-17) for the Trades (architects, designers, contractors, builders) and Saturday and Sunday (January 18-19) for everyone! I have to admit, this is a very big deal for me. In design school, we came to this show as students every year. I did the show once before as a vendor in 2016 with an established artist-friend, but at that time I was just beginning to figure out what I wanted to do with clay. Get this, at that show: a guy came up to me and loved my mosaic samples and he said, “Ok, one question....” (I prepared to answer ‘how much?....’) but he said,
“I’m a builder. How long would it take you to do 10 units, bathroom and kitchens?”
I couldn’t breath.
I took his card.
But.
I wasn’t ready.
It was Pema Chodron (love her) that said,
“Fear is a natural reaction to moving closer to the truth.”
I realized from that, that it WAS possible to do exactly what I wanted to do, I just had to go about getting ready.
So, here we are.
I’m ready.
Thank you so much for joining me on this journey. It’s been amazing so far, and I’m just beginning.
Oh, and hey! For you, I’m offering FREE shipping as my launch gift for any sales in the months of January and February!
xx Meg

Thank you, you have inspired me! Love your work, as I ponder your creative work I am sure that I will find something that I love and just have to have! A friend brought me some pieces from Portugal and every time I look at them I wish I had a back splash of them…so who knows!
